You will only be charged VAT if you are a consumer located within the European Union. Consumers in the European Union will be charged VAT at their local rate.
If you're located in the US for example and have a US billing address then you will not be charged VAT.
If you're a business located within the European Union and have a valid cross-border VAT number then you can enter your VAT number at checkout and the reverse charge mechanism will apply.

The plugin will automatically adjust to your store's set currency. For example, if your store's currency is set to USD then the plugin will accept tips/gratuity in USD.

The way the plugin works is that you create a product on Squarespace which will become your tip product. You will create this like any other product on Squarespace and you will populate this product with variants which will represent the various amounts that customers can tip. Our plugin then pulls this product into your cart page so customers are given the option to add a tip to their order before they reach the checkout page.

No, it is not possible to add custom code to the checkout page so the plugin is added to the cart page instead.

Discount codes can still be applied to tips as they are just another product on your Squarespace website. To stop discount code from being applied to tips we would recommend restricting discount codes by product categories.

Gift cards can still be applied to tips as they are just another product on your Squarespace website.

Tax rules will be applied to tips just as they would any other product on Squarespace. If you do not want tax to be applied then we would recommend setting up your tip product as a service product and excluding service products your tax rules. Of course if you already charge tax on service products then this method will not work and tax will still be applied to tips.
